High School Workshops
Explore a variety of hands-on workshops for high school students, designed to spark curiosity and expose students to diverse fields. These engaging sessions offer valuable insights into future academic, career paths, and a taste of university life.
Note: Schools are responsible for their own transportation to campus. Once you are on campus, we’ll take care of you! We will provide your group with a general campus tour and complimentary lunch at our Teraanga Commons Dining Hall.

Human Rights & Social Justice
Join Carleton’s Human Rights and Social Justice program for an interactive workshop that gives students the opportunity to explore human rights and social justice issues and their impact on human lives in different contexts.
Humanities (Great Books)
If you teach Grade 11 or 12, you are encouraged to arrange a class visit. Depending on the size of your group, your students can attend a regularly scheduled lecture, or a professor in the Bachelor of Humanities (Great Books and Big Ideas) can hold a special lecture for you on a topic in English literature, religion, philosophy, history, political theory, or digital humanities.
Journalism
Join Carleton’s School of Journalism and Communication for a lecture on exciting themes such as story scouting and news writing.
Music
Carleton’s Music program is pleased to offer interactive workshops on a variety of musical subjects including musical improvisation for bands, West-African drumming, experimental musical instruments and choral music.
Neuroscience
Join Carleton’s Department of Neuroscience for a workshop on the neurobiology of concussions.
Physics
Carleton’s Department of Physics invites high school classes to visit the undergraduate physics labs and perform experiments that have been specifically designed for grades 11 and 12 students.

Mini-Courses Program (Grades 8 to 11)

The Mini-Courses Program (MCP) is a unique event that allows students from grades 8 to 11 in Eastern Ontario and Secondary II to V in Western Quebec to explore a field of study in a university or college setting. Students acquire the knowledge and skills that will help them achieve academic success and promote their interest in pursuing post-secondary studies while spending a week on Carleton’s campus.
