Take advantage of our facilities

As a Carleton student, you can take full advantage of our first-class athletic facilities, conveniently located in one area of campus. You can sign up for a fitness class, swim laps in the pool, lift weights or run on a treadmill in the brand new 11,000 sq. ft  Fitness Centre,  or just get together with friends to play one of your favourite sports during open recreation time.

A variety of ways to stay active

A little friendly competition never hurt anyone, so why not try one of our intramural leagues? Getting in shape shouldn’t be a chore, so have fun and invigorate your body with one of our many fitness programs.

With over 120 exciting classes offered each week, as well as a variety of sport and recreational opportunities, there’s something for everyone!

Go Ravens!

For such small birds, Ravens are certainly mighty. Year in and year out, the Carleton Ravens have dominated their opponents.

During the 2015/2016 season, the Carleton University Department of Recreation and Athletics had student participation that included 252 CIS athletes, 141 OUA athletes and 341 Competitive Club athletes. Our varsity teams finished this past season with one CIS Championship and two OUA banners. The 10th Annual MNBA Capital Hoops Classic, played at Canadian Tire Centre against the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees, saw an attendance of 10,105 fans and a win for the Ravens women’s basketball team, while the Panda Game set a CIS attendance record for the 2015 football season with an incredible 17,596 fans at TD Place as the Ravens came out victorious against the Gee-Gees for the second straight year!

The Ravens boasted two CIS All-Canadians, one CIS Rookie of the Year, 43 OUA all-stars, one RSEQ all-star and two OUA coach of the year awards. The men’s basketball program continued their success as they achieved their record-setting 12th CIS National Championship in the last 14 years, including six in a row.

Even if you don’t play on a team you can still get the Raven experience! Deck yourself out in red and black, crank up the noise level and be part of the unbeatable atmosphere at our home games.
