Take advantage of our facilities

As a Carleton student, you can take full advantage of our first-class athletic facilities, conveniently located in one area of campus. You can sign up for a fitness class, swim laps in the pool, lift weights or run on a treadmill in the brand new 11,000 sq. ft  Fitness Centre,  or just get together with friends to play one of your favourite sports during open recreation time.

A variety of ways to stay active

A little friendly competition never hurt anyone, so why not try one of our intramural leagues? Getting in shape shouldn’t be a chore, so have fun and invigorate your body with one of our many fitness programs.

With over 120 exciting classes offered each week, as well as a variety of sport and recreational opportunities, there’s something for everyone!

Ravens win

During the 2016-17 season, the Carleton University Department of Recreation and Athletics had student participation that included 250 U SPORTS athletes, 148 OUA athletes and 508 Competitive Club athletes.

Our varsity teams finished this past season with one U SPORTS championship and three OUA banners. The 11th annual Capital Hoops Classic, played at Canadian Tire Centre against the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees, saw both the Ravens men and women’s basketball teams sweep the Gee-Gees for the first time since 2013. In the 48th annual Panda Game at TD Place Stadium, a record crowd of 23,329 fans – the largest U SPORTS football attendance in the past two decades – witnessed the Ravens come out victorious against the GeeGees for the third straight year!

The Ravens boasted seven U SPORTS All-Canadians, two U SPORTS All-Rookie Team selections, 47 OUA All-Stars, five OUA All-Rookie picks, two RSEQ All-Stars, one RSEQ All-Rookie representative, two OUA Coach of the Year awards and one U SPORTS Coach of the Year honour.
