High School Workshop: Physics

Physics Workshop

The Carleton University Department of Physics invites high school classes to visit the undergraduate physics labs and perform physics experiments that have been specifically designed for grades 11 and 12 students. Tours of the department’s research labs can also be arranged upon request.

Sample schedule for your students: 

10:00 a.m. (ET) – Welcome at the pendulum in the Herzberg Laboratories; walk upstairs to the labs

10:10 to 10:50 a.m. (ET) – Physics experiments

11:00 a.m. (ET) – Break

11:10 a.m. (ET) – Presentation on Physics at Carleton

11:40 a.m. (ET) – Undergraduate Recruitment Office brings students to the residence dining hall for a complimentary lunch

12:40 p.m. (ET) – General campus tour, leaving from the residence dining hall

2:00 p.m. (ET) – Depart campus
