In-person Campus Tours

Registering for an in-person campus tour is the best way to learn about Carleton!

Our passionate and knowledgeable team of campus tour guides are current Carleton students who can’t wait to share their experience and advice with future Ravens! Prospective students, their families, schools and tour groups are invited to take a walking tour of our beautiful campus any time of the year.

Our general campus tour includes the following:

– Visiting classrooms, lecture halls and study spaces

– Exploring Carleton’s student services

– A tour of our residence facilities

Group Tours

If you would like to book a campus tour for a large group such as a class, athletic team, or organization, please book your tour using the online request form. We’ll work with you to create a specialized tour that suits the needs and interests of your group.

Please note: We need at least seven business days notice to book a group tour.

Getting to Campus

Parking: Free parking is provided with your Campus Tour. When arriving on campus, please park in any visitor parking lot on campus (no payment is required). Once parked, report to the Tour Centre, 209 Pigiarvik (ᐱᒋᐊᕐᕕᒃ) (formerly Robertson Hall), where you will provide your licence plate information to your Tour Guide to validate your free parking. Without validation, you are subject to parking fees.

OC Transpo: When arriving on campus by bus (lines 2, 7, 10, 111), if you get off at Campus Avenue, follow the path under the train tracks to University Drive. Once you’ve reached the road, follow the sidewalk to your right (towards the Rideau River). If you get off at University Drive, walk to your right (towards the Rideau River). Pigiarvik (ᐱᒋᐊᕐᕕᒃ) (formally Robertson Hall) is the last building on the right-hand side of the road, and guests can meet their Campus Tour Guide in the Tour Centre, room 209.

Enhance Your Tour Experience

Engineering and Design Tours: In addition to our general campus tour, you can book a tour of our world-class engineering laboratories, design studios, and advanced computer and networking platforms. Engineering and Design tours are offered Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (ET) for up to five guests. Schedule your in-person Engineering and Design facilities tour.

Note: These tours only include the Engineering and Design facilities. To tour the entire campus, please also book a campus tour.

Attend a Bachelor of Humanities (Great Books) Lecture of Discussion Group: Join the Bachelor of Humanities for an opportunity to sit-in on a lecture or discussion group and meet with current students and faculty. If you are interested in attending, please fill out the Schedule a BHUM Visit form. If none of the times listed on the form work for you, please reach out to tours@carleton.ca.

Become a Student for a Day: Spend a day at Carleton University with an Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) student or Faculty of Public Affairs (FPA) student ambassador. Stay tuned for more information on this opportunity!

Meet with an Academic Faculty or Staff Member: Faculty/Staff appointments are designed to help prospective students learn more about their program(s) of interest. If you’d like to meet one-on-one with a faculty/staff member, please complete the Academic Faculty and Staff Appointment Request Form.

Note: We can only accommodate Faculty/Staff Appointments Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (ET). We require at least three business days to set up these appointments.

Virtual Campus Tours

Guided Virtual Tour: Join our Tour Guides as they virtually walk you through some of our favourite campus locations on a 45-minute online tour! Each tour will include a live Q&A with your Tour Guide. Q: What will I see on the tour?

A: Each tour differs depending on guests’ interests. Depending on availability, we strive to show study spaces, lecture halls, residences, athletic facilities, student services, and more!

Q: I am taking the bus; how do I get to the Campus Tour Centre?

A: The Campus Tour Centre is located in room 209 of Pigiarvik (ᐱᒋᐊᕐᕕᒃ) (formerly Robertson Hall). When arriving on campus by bus (lines 2, 7, 10, 111), if you get off on Campus Avenue, follow the path under the train tracks to University Drive.
