• To apply for a deferral of your Offer of Admission, please accept your Offer by the deadline date stated in your Offer letter.

Requesting deferral of application or Offer of Admission:

• Offer of Admission deferral requests will be processed after final grades are received. Students will typically learn if their Offer deferral has been approved by the end of October. Please monitor Carleton360 for information on your request.
• Students may request one deferral of their application or Offer of Admission. Deferral is for a maximum of 12 months from the original offer.
• It is not possible to defer if you are planning on attending another post-secondary institution.
• If you applied to any 2026 term (for example, Winter 2026) via the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) and are looking to defer to any other 2026 term (for example Summer 2026 or Fall 2026), you must amend your application through the OUAC.  
• If you are a Carleton Student, (i.e. you have graded Carleton courses) please do not use this form. If you cannot attend for the term to which you were admitted, please re-apply through Carleton360.
• Scholarship eligibility and residence offers will be based on your final academic average according to the regulations in effect for the year of your new offer of admission.
