• For students who have been admitted for Fall 2025 interested in a deferral to a future term, the deferral request form will be available in July 2025.
• To apply for a deferral, please accept your Offer by the deadline date stated in your Offer letter.

Requesting deferral of offer of admission:

• Deferral requests will be processed after final grades are received. Students will typically learn if their deferral has been approved by the end of October. Please monitor Carleton360 for information on your request.
• Students may request one deferral of their Offer of Admission. Deferral is for a maximum of 12 months from the original offer.
• It is not possible to defer your admission if you are planning on attending another post-secondary institution.
• If you applied to any 2025 term (for example, Winter 2025) via the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) and are looking to defer to any other 2025 term (for example Summer 2025 or Fall 2025), you must amend your application through the OUAC.  
• If you are a Carleton Student, (i.e. you have graded Carleton courses) please do not use this form. If you cannot attend for the term to which you were admitted, please re-apply through Carleton360.
• Scholarship eligibility and residence offers will be based on your final academic average according to the regulations in effect for the year of your new offer of admission.
