A Fall 2021 Update

As vaccinations continue to roll out across Canada, Carleton is planning for a safe and gradual return to campus in fall 2021. This includes plans for some in-person courses and activities on campus in the fall. We will also have online options to allow for maximum flexibility for students. Large classes will continue online for fall 2021, but we hope to offer a significant proportion of small and medium-sized classes (under 60 students), labs and tutorials in person or in a blended format. Information on whether courses are being offered in-person and online learning for fall 2021 will be available in May 2021, as part of course registration in June. We will provide more information as the situation continues to evolve. Find out more about Fall, including information about coming to Ottawa.

Final Grades and Documents

It’s important to remember that most offers of admission are conditional offers of admission. We usually don’t issue a “final offer,” rather just lift the conditions as students provide final grades or documents. Students are encouraged to send final results to us as soon as they’re available. We are taking students’ individual circumstances into account, as we understand that many schools have been impacted by cancellations or delays, as well as adjusted assessment procedures. For students whose exams have been officially cancelled, we will be taking school assessments into consideration. If you wish to provide students with documentation from the school with relevant contextual information, they can upload that along with their results.

You can also let students know they can get a speedier decision if they upload required documents to their application directly in our Carleton360 portal. (They can watch: How to upload your documents).

Have a Safe Summer!

Stay safe, take care of yourselves and we hope you are able to enjoy a much deserved break this summer. We’re feeling optimistic for the new school year – and we look forward to in-person events and connecting with you again. We miss visiting your schools, and hosting you on our campus – fingers crossed for the future! See you next year!
