Over the summer months we will be offering support to your students with their fall planning. Carleton is welcoming students back to campus this September, while also supporting those who are unable to travel at this time. Whether studying in person or virtually, we are here to help you and your students as they prepare for their Carleton adventure!
Students will have many opportunities to connect with Carleton and other students this summer. Please tell your students to keep an eye on our summer events tailored specifically for international students, including sessions on housing, preparing to travel to Canada, orientation and more!

Admissions Review
Do you have applicants still waiting for an admission decision? Admitted students can view their offer package in Carleton360, which displays updates in real time. Please review or follow up with Rob Finlayson (robert.finlayson@carleton.ca) with any questions or updates. With course registration opening on June 28, please finalize all outstanding applications as soon as possible, as programs are filling quickly.
Final Grades and Documents
Just a reminder that most offers of admission are conditional offers of admission. We don’t issue a “final offer,” rather just lift the conditions as students provide final grades or documents. Students are encouraged to send final results to us as soon as they’re available. We understand that many students have been impacted by exam cancellations or delays, so will be considering each file on an individual basis. If students have documentation from their schools with relevant contextual information, they can upload that along with their latest results.
Registration Now Open
Registration for classes is now open – students should register for courses as soon as possible to get the best selection and schedule. Students are assigned a “time ticket” they can see in Carleton Central indicating when they can begin registering in selected classes. Students can still register even if they have conditions on their offer of admission, and before final grades have been reviewed. Students need to accept their offer of admissions and activate their MyCarletonOne (MC1) account prior to registration. The Student Registration Assistance Team is standing by to help.
Study Permits
Students will need a valid study permit/visa in order to travel to Canada. Our International Student Services Office (ISSO) offers support and guidance to assist with applications. They can also advise on re-application options for those whose study permit applications have been refused. For questions about study permits, travel and quarantine plans, or health insurance, please contact the International Student Services Office isso@carleton.ca.
Residence
Do you have a student who missed the housing deposit deadline? Students can still apply for on-campus accommodation, which is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Applying early will increase the chances of securing a residence room. Students should also explore off-campus housing options.
Take a Virtual Tour
Our self-guided virtual tour is now available in Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Turkish! Have a look at Carleton’s beautiful riverside campus, labs, classrooms, residence and outdoor spaces. Students and families can also request a live guided virtual tour led by an international admissions officer who will answer questions, and provide tips and useful information.
