Winter Break

It’s December and Ottawa has enjoyed the first snow of the season. The campus looks beautiful and we’re looking forward to an upcoming holiday break and to welcoming new students to campus in January. Please note Carleton will be closed from December 24 until January 4 and we’ll be back on January 5. Please send any requests or questions in advance of the holidays to make sure we can assist you and your students.

Event - Ask Us Anything!

Please invite your students to our live chat event: Ask Us Anything – Admissions and How to Apply, on Tuesday, December 14 from 07:00 to 10:00 ET (See the time in your location). Students are invited to watch a short, on-demand video tailored to their specific school system, and then join the live chat to ask questions. No registration required. Videos cover:  American High School, A Levels, Chinese High School, Indian High School, International Baccalaureate, French Baccalaureate, Turkish High School, WAEC and more! Please share with your students – thank you!

Winter 2022 Term

While the global pandemic continues to impact our work, we are pleased to note that the winter term will see a mix of face-to-face and online learning opportunities to maximize flexibility. There will be a notable increase of in-person classes and opportunities, and classes will also have larger capacity. Campus life is also continuing to safely and gradually reopen, from dining services to the gym, outdoor spaces, study spaces, intramural sports, etc. As always, our return-to-campus decisions are made with the health and wellness of students, faculty and staff as our top priority. For details, see COVID-19 updates

Deferrals and January Start

To confirm your list of students beginning their studies this January, please email Rob Finlayson: robert.finlayson@carleton.ca. Be sure to include a list of any Fall 2021 students who chose to defer their offer of admission to a future term (Winter 2022 or Fall 2022).

Scholarships and Awards

We’re pleased to announce that Carleton is once again offering international top-up awards for international students:

  • International Award of Excellence ($5,000 CAD) for students that qualify for Entrance Awards
  • International Award of Merit ($3,500) for students slightly under the cut-off for an Entrance Award

These are in addition to Carleton’s merit-based Entrance Awards (no application required), and Prestige Awards (deadline March 1). These, together with our exceptional work-study opportunities (often paid), make Carleton an excellent choice for your students.

Events

We are looking forward to partnering with you on custom initiatives and supporting your events in the months ahead. Please be sure to share any opportunities to join you in your recruitment activities, and consider how we can collaborate to promote Carleton to your students. We invite you to book a meeting with Rob Finlayson to discuss this further: robert.finlayson@carleton.ca
