Alternative Admissions Pathway to a Business Degree (International)

Carleton’s Sprott School of Business is offering an alternative pathway to the Bachelor of Commerce or the Bachelor of International Business for students who may not meet the published admission requirements, but who do meet the minimum requirements listed below and are able to demonstrate skills in leadership and creativity through a personal statement.

Application Process

International students should apply to their degree program in the usual way, using the OUAC application, or Carleton’s direct application on Carleton 360 (get details). This application to the Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of International Business must be completed first, then submit the personal statement demonstrating your skills in leadership and creativity.

Personal statements should be submitted by April 1. Applications for Fall 2023 are now closed.

The Sprott School of Business will review the personal statements, and candidates who successfully pass this screening will be contacted and invited to a video interview. A $50 interview fee will apply.

If you have already made an application to Carleton, or were offered an alternate program to the Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of International Business due to a missing or low math prerequisite, you do not have to submit a new application. You should submit the personal statement.

If you have any additional questions regarding the personal statement process, please contact Rhonda.Kelly@carleton.ca.
