Meet Laquesha

Laquesha in front of Rideau River

Laquesha is in her second year of the Bachelor of Global and International Studies program, with a minor in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. She is from Trinidad and Tobago.

“It was the scariest experience moving away from home, leaving everything familiar to live and study in a foreign country.

Carleton helped make the process smoother than it would have been otherwise by offering incredible support services that alleviated the stress of the transition period.

That, coupled with the overwhelming sense of community that permeates campus life and the countless opportunities to get involved (literally anything you can think of, there’s probably a club or society for it) and connect with other students allowed me to feel happy and fulfilled here.

Carleton is now my home away from home.

There’s something for everyone and through the Bachelor of Global and International Studies program, I have been able to more fully explore my passions and grow both academically and holistically.”
