Alternative Spring Break (ASB) is a community service-learning program that takes place over one year and culminates with an immersive winter reading week. During winter reading week, students travel to communities in Canada and around the world to participate in volunteer projects with partner organizations. Last year, ASB teams traveled to communities in Banff, New Orleans, New York, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Ecuador.

CU Blogger Becca just returned from Alternative Spring Break in Nicaragua. In her latest blog post, “Why I Didn’t Take the Same Trip Twice,” Becca discusses some of the experiential learning opportunities available at Carleton.
