Do you have thoughts on where Canada will be in 150 years? Have you ever wanted to be a published author? If you answered “Yes!” to those questions, Carleton University has news for you. The Carleton University Department of English and the Ottawa International Writers Festival are co-hosting a creative writing competition to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary! The competition will accept previously unpublished works of fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry from high school students in the Ottawa area. Submissions are due April 1, 2017 and should focus on the topic, Canada: the next 150 years. Prizes include being published in an anthology chapbook published by In/Words Magazine and Press and the chance to win passes for summer music festivals in Ottawa.
