Current Ontario High School Students
Individuals who are currently enrolled as a full-time Ontario high school student and are coming to Carleton for the first time.
- January 11, 2012 for Fall admission (September 2012 entry)
- October 15, 2011for Winter admission ( January 2012 entry).
- Note that not all degree programs are available in January.

If you are presently finishing your last year of high school you must obtain your Personal Access Information (login information) from your guidance office before applying online through the Ontario Universities Application Centre (OUAC) at
www.ouac.on.ca/101.
- Base Application Fee charged by the OUAC: $125
- Additional fees charged by the OUAC may be applicable: additional choice fee of $42 for each university/program choice beyond the initial base three university choices, mailing surcharge for address outside Canada, etc.
You will receive an acknowledgement letter confirming that we received your application within 4 – 6 weeks of submission.
Your acknowledgement letter contains your Carleton applicant number. You will need this number to access our on-line system,
Carleton Central. You can check your application(s), the status of your application(s), and make updates to your address and phone number, if required.
If you’re applying to Architectural Studies, Humanities, Industrial Design, Information Technology (Interactive Media and Design), Music or Social Work, you’ll be required to provide additional documentation to support your application. Here are the deadlines:

If your first language is not English you can prove your language proficiency in a number of ways.
- Demonstrate that you have completed three years of full-time secondary or post-secondary education in Canada or in another country where English is the primary language and the language of instruction (e.g. U.K., U.S.A, or Australia).
- Submit passing results from any one of the four following language assessment tests.

You will receive an offer package in the mail. Included in your package is important information about your degree program, scholarship offer, financial assistance, residence and more. Carleton University will begin to make offers of admission using available grades in February/March. Do not be concerned if you do not receive an early offer of admission. Offers will continue to be made until mid-June. After that date, offers will be made using final marks. If you receive a conditional offer of admission, your application will be reassessed once we receive your final grades to ensure that you still meet the requirements for your program. If you no longer meet the required averages, Carleton will change or withdraw your offer of admission.
If you are admitted to first-year studies before May 18, 2012 you will be offered a place in residence. Students receiving a residence offer must make their deposit to the Housing Office by 4:30 p.m. (EST) June 7, 2012.
If you do not receive a residence offer, you may apply by submitting a residence application to be included in the lottery for remaining spaces taking place on June 11, 2012.
If you received an Offer of Admission and wish to accept, you must confirm your acceptance of the Offer of Admission at the
www.ouac.on.ca/101 website. You must successfully complete the submit process in order for your response to be received by the OUAC and Carleton University:
- Log in to your application using your OUAC Reference Number and PIN/Password.
- Click on the “Choices/Offers” button at the top of the screen to view and/or respond to your offer(s) of admission.
- Click on the “Offer” or “Alternate Offer” link.
- Click the radio button to accept or decline (if applicable) the offer then click “Continue”.
- When ready to submit all changes including responses to offers of admission, click one of the “Submit” buttons or links.
- Review and verify your application information, if correct, click on the “I verify that the information above is correct as shown” button.
- Carefully read the “Applicant’s Declaration” and click on the “I Agree” button.
- If successfully submitted, you will receive a CONFIRMATION NUMBER on the last screen of the SUBMIT process. Print this page for your reference.
If your Offer of Admission is made on or before May 18, your acceptance must be received by June 1, 2012. After May 18, all students must accept their offer of admission by the date indicated on their offer letter.
