So far, so good!
Hi everyone! Hope you all are doing well. It’s crazy how fast this semester is going. I feel like school just started…yet, I have midterms coming up!
Last weekend I was in Toronto for the Ontario Universities’ Fair – I had an amazing time! I always love talking to students (and parents) about Carleton University. We had a lot of students come by and it all turned out great. A really neat thing that happened to me, I had a student come up to me that weekend and told me she reads my blogs! It put a huge smile on my face .
This upcoming Friday is Carleton University Day! I will helping out that day. It’s a great opportunity for secondary school students to come visit the campus, talk with professors and students, attend mini-lectures and of course, find out how amazing Carleton really is! You can register at http://www2.carleton.ca/admissions/newsandevents/cuday/cu-day-agenda/.
My classes have been going very well. I am overly excited about one class, called ‘Addiction’. It’s a third-year psychology class taught by an amazing professor. It is so interesting! I also get to do a neat project in that class where I pick a topic related to the course material and present it any way (video, powerpoint, song, blog etc.). Guess what I’m doing? A blog! I am currently working on its layout and about to post my first entry!
I am also loving volunteering at the Student Experience Office (SEO) as a peer helper! I am currently in the midst of organizing CU Amazing Race. It’s an annual event where Carleton student teams follow clues to various places on campus and complete some interesting challenges. It’s a great test to see how well Carleton students know their campus! We have awesome prizes this year, including a trip for two to Daytona Beach! If you are a Carleton student and are interesting in registering, then visit: http://www2.carleton.ca/seo/upcoming-events/cu-amazing-race/.
I am also planning on joining the Carleton University Redzone!! It’s basically a team of students who go out and support the Carleton sports teams. I love cheering and I have tons of Carleton SPIRIT!
Anyways, my third year has been going well so far. Hopefully it stays that way!
Keep smiling,
Amisha
